Project Description
This summer, Special Collections will be working on an exciting new project to document the history of Ogden's 25th Street through oral histories and a rephotography project using images from Special Collections, the Union Station, and those collected from the community.
With Dr. Kathryn MacKay as an advisor, history students will research the unique buildings of 25th Street. They will also conduct oral history interviews with former and current business owners, and other men and women who have been a part of Ogden's history. Photography students, with faculty advisor Josh Winegar, will recreate historic 25th street images and photo-document other aspects of the downtown area. All of these efforts will culminate in a new exhibit at the Union Station next Spring.
Dr. Kathy Payne, Head of Reference & Information Services, is serving as the project director.
And you can help too...
Ogden History Day
Special Collections invites the public to bring their images of 25th Street to our Ogden History Day event. Our staff will scan your images and provide information to help you preserve your photographs and other memorabilia.
